As part of Earth Week 2017, Mississippi State's Office of Sustainability is encouraging members of the campus and local communities to participate in Trash Wars 2017, a Mississippi college cleanup competition designed to bring awareness to the effects of littering. Participants are asked to find two pieces of litter and to post one picture of those items on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtags #Take2Miss and #MaroonGoesGreen. Mississippi State is competing against the University of Mississippi, Millsaps College, Delta State University, and Hinds Community College, who all are collecting litter throughout the day as well.
