About this event
Are you working on a grant proposal? Beyond preparing your work plan and budget, you must demonstrate through required supplemental proposal sections that you understand best practices, regulations and expectations of the funder for stewardship of funds, inclusivity and compliance. Â
The Office of Research and Economic Development and the Office of Inclusive Excellence offer a series of workshops on Practical Proposal Preparation that will help you produce competitive, compliant proposal elements that leverage all of MSU’s capacities to support your goals and objectives. Fall 2024 workshop topics will include Broader Impacts Statements (Sept. 10), Data Management Plans (Oct. 14) and Mentoring Plans (Nov. 12), and each workshop will provide the development resources and support you need to get started on these required components for your proposal during the workshop. Each session of the PPP workshop series is designed to enable participants to leave the event with a draft product of the featured section for their proposal.
Who should attend? The workshops are open to all faculty and grantseeking professional staff who would like hands-on support for developing the identified proposal component. These workshops are also appropriate for those planning a future proposal and who would like to learn more and receive resources.
The Data Management Plans workshop will inform participants on the regulations and requirements for federal agencies' related to the identification, collection, management of and access to research data, as well as provide resources to support data management planning and research products available through ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵLibraries' Scholarly Communications Team. The workshop will also provide outlines and prompts to help writers prepare project-specific DMPs, including the unique considerations for inclusivity in data collection and sharing, equitable access and management of data and products of research through support from MSU's Office of Inclusive Excellence. Join this in-person only workshop if you'd like to leave with a great start on your next DMP!
