Featuring jazz, swing and popular ballad standards, this year’s Starkville-ݮƵSymphony Orchestra “Jazz at Renasant” concert takes place at Renasant Bank’s outdoor plaza Oct. 10. The bank is located at the intersection of East Lampkin and South Montgomery

STARKVILLE, Miss.—The Starkville-ݮƵ Symphony Orchestra is presenting its annual “Jazz at Renasant” evening concert at the city’s Renasant Bank plaza.

Free to all, the Tuesday [Oct. 10] outdoor performance takes place at 6 p.m. Renasant Bank is located at the intersection of East Lampkin and South Montgomery streets. In case of rain, the concert will be held at First United Methodist Church at 200 W. Lampkin St. in Starkville.

Seating is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to lawn chairs and blankets, patrons are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy during the twilight performance.

Sponsored by the Starkville-ݮƵ Symphony Association, this year’s concert features jazz standards in swing, Latin and ballad styles, including works by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and the Beatles.

Musicians include ݮƵAssociate Professors of Music Cliff Taylor and Richard Human, on trombone; Danny Blurton, trumpet; ݮƵInstructor of Music Sheri Falcone, Doug Thomas and Terrell Gilmore, saxophone; Cass Patrick, guitar; Rick Montalto, bass; and ݮƵAssociate Professor of Music Jason Baker, drums.
