Mississippi State Invites Fans and Followers to Become True Dawgs
Do you have what it takes to join ݮƵ’s True Dawgs? If you love ݮƵand social media, the answer is yes!
True Dawgs is a social media initiative powered by Mississippi State supporters to reinforce MSU's standing as a world-class research university. Not only do True Dawgs serve as “social ambassadors” for their favorite university, but they also can win cool ݮƵmerchandise for participating.
“We know there’s nothing more powerful than the collective enthusiasm and support of the global ݮƵcommunity,” said Sid Salter, MSU’s chief communications officer. “Tapping into their power and influences is another way to promote Mississippi State’s research and academic leadership and educate new audiences about the great things happening at MSU.”
True Dawgs membership is open to ݮƵstudents, employees, alumni and fans. By signing up with their preferred social networks, participants agree to receive emails that alert them about news they can share with their friends on social media. Every time they share suggested content, they earn points toward appealing ݮƵgifts and apparel given away at the end of each month.
Participation in True Dawgs is free, and subscribers maintain complete privacy and control of their social media accounts.
Salter noted that True Dawgs is part of the award-winning “We Ring True” branding initiative that highlights the many ways ݮƵis driven to make a difference. Strengths include diversity, cross-campus collaboration, and a supportive and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to pursue big ideas and bold actions.
“There are so many success stories that demonstrate the power of the ݮƵexperience,” Salter said. “By helping share and amplify these stories, True Dawgs will play an important role in boosting MSU’s social media presence and elevating the university’s profile as a major force in research and development.”
Student-led teams at Mississippi State are involved in a broad array of research and development projects with state, national and global impacts. They’re working to get unmanned aircraft systems flying safely in the nation’s airspace, designing autonomous vehicles, and generating solutions to world hunger, to name just a few.
