STARKVILLE, Miss.—ݮƵ’s Division of Student Affairs is being recognized for supporting employees in the National Guard and U.S. Armed Forces reserves.
Recently, the division was presented with the Seven Seals Award by the Mississippi Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The honor recognizes significant organizational achievement or initiative that promotes the ESGR mission to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve.
“We are grateful for this recognition and continue to be privileged to support our students and staff who are service members in achieving their academic and professional goals while also serving our nation and state. It is truly an honor,” said ݮƵVice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt.
Last year, the same organization recognized Hyatt and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Jeremy Baham with the Patriotic Employer Award for their support of service members. ݮƵalso was presented with the Seven Seals Award in 2017.
The G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans is part of the Division of Student Affairs. The nationally recognized center, housed in Nusz Hall, supports MSU’s military-connected students.
With a long-standing legacy of military support, ݮƵis consistently recognized as a military-friendly university. Earlier this year, the university was named a top 10 Military Friendly school by VIQTORY, formerly Victory Media. ݮƵwas designated a “Purple Heart University” in 2015 by the Military Order of the Purple Heart for outstanding service to military veterans, service members, dependents and survivors.
