Mini-series tickets for ݮƵ’s 2019-20 Lyceum Series are now available for purchase.
Starting Monday [July 22], mini-series tickets are available to the general public for $75 and $65 for ݮƵemployees and senior citizens. The mini-series ticket option includes attendance to three programs and features guaranteed reserved seating at a discounted rate.
The annual series supports performing arts in the Starkville and ݮƵcommunities. Featuring some of the world’s most talented artists, this season’s lineup includes:
--Sept. 17, Akropolis Reed Quintet, which has been hailed by Fanfare Magazine for its “imagination, infallible musicality and huge vitality.”
--Oct. 15, “The Hot Club of San Francisco” ensemble presenting innovative arrangements of classic tunes and original compositions featuring violin, bass, guitar and a swinging rhythm section.
--Oct. 27, “Taj Express: A Bollywood Musical Revue” capturing the expressive spirit of the world of Bollywood movies through a fusion of film, dance and live music.
--Jan. 23, “Voctave,” an 11-member a cappella group featuring singers with diverse backgrounds, from Walt Disney World entertainment, gospel music and musical theater to contemporary Christian, barbershop and pop music.
--Feb. 25, “Artrageous!” troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers paying tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and music genres with a performance culminating in a gallery of finished paintings.
--March 30, Aquila Theatre’s dramatic adaptation of Homer’s epic tale “The Odyssey.”
