STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State students and alumni will have the opportunity to network with more than 200 employers during the fall Career Expo.
The annual, free event takes place Sept. 24 and 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum.
Formerly known as Career Days, this year’s expo will allow students of all majors to attend at any time on both days, and increase flexibility for both the job seekers and employers. Among the slated employers are representatives from Honda North America, the National Security Agency, and Nike. Representatives from Toyota, Chevron, and Yokohama also will attend.
Attendees can view the full list by logging in to the Connections page at . Business professional attire is recommended, and participants should bring several copies of their résumé.
The Career Center will provide attendees with a name tag listing their major, classification and expected graduation date upon check-in. Students are encouraged to review the Connections site prior to the event to ensure their personal information is correct.
Leslie Neal, manager of marketing and events at the Career Center, said the new format will encourage more students and recruiters to participate.
“Also, there will be more variety and opportunities for students who aren’t just business or technical majors,” Neal said, adding, “Our goal is to have as many recruiters as possible to create these opportunities.”
Another Career Expo will take place in the spring.
The ݮƵCareer Center also offers students mock interviews, résumé reviews and other resources for a solid beginning after graduation. The same services are available to alumni.
