ݮƵpresents inaugural Student Choice Awards

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State is celebrating the inaugural 2020 Student Choice Awards winners announced during a recognition ceremony for students and student organizations committed to demonstrating excellence on and off campus.
Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt praised the student honorees at a recent ceremony for their commitment to developing programs and creating opportunities for students to get engaged.
“I think we are all looking for ways to celebrate in the midst of the COVID experience, so it’s just great to have a chance to celebrate our students and all of their incredible efforts and work,” Hyatt said. “Student organizations play such an important role in student life, so it is good to see them thriving and functioning well. These awards will be an annual event from now on.”
Winners were announced for the following categories:
—Music Maker Productions, Student Organization of the Year
—Broadcast Education Association Student Media Club, New Student Organization of the Year
—Haunted (Residence Hall Association), Outstanding Event of the Year
—Homecoming Step Show and Concert (National Pan-Hellenic Council, Music Maker Productions, Student Association), Excellence in Collaboration
—Oak Hall, Residence Hall of the Year
—Alpha Kappa Alpha, National Pan-Hellenic Council Greek Organization of the Year
—Delta Gamma, National Panhellenic Conference Greek Organization of the Year
—Kappa Sigma, Interfraternity Council Greek Organization of the Year
—Sigma Lambda Beta, Multicultural Greek Council Greek Organization of the Year
—Emily Maxine of Dance Marathon, President of the Year. She is a doctoral student majoring in educational psychology from Mobile, Alabama.
—Mia Robertson, Speech and Debate Council, Rising Leader Award. She is a junior political science major from Starkville.
—Cheryl Chambers, Speech and Debate Council, Student Organization Advisor of the Year.
—Katie Kronk, Excellence in Graphic Design. She is a senior marketing major from Franklin, Tennessee.
—Felipe Olvera, Outstanding Videographer of the Year. He is a senior architecture major from Memphis, Tennessee.
—Alexus Milons, Outstanding Photographer of the Year. She is a senior interdisciplinary studies major from Starkville.
