ITS to continue February network upgrade in selected academic buildings
Information Technology Services began an upgrade to MSU's entire network last November and will continue with the upgrade through 2021.
As part of this upgrade, ITS will visit individual academic and administrative buildings on the Starkville campus to install new network equipment.Ìý
Careful consideration has been taken on scheduling building upgrade dates to minimize the impact onÌýacademic classes and administrative work.ÌýÌý
ÌýÌý
Please be aware of the following on the day a building is scheduled to beÌýupgraded as theÌýbuilding will be without network connectivity all day.ÌýÌý
- Employees should consider teleworking on the day of the upgrade, given thereÌýwill be no network access.ÌýÌý
- Instructors should be prepared to deliver course material from anotherÌýlocation if network access is required.ÌýÌý
- ITS-supported lecterns will not be functional during the day of the scheduled upgrade.
- Academic buildings with classrooms scheduled to be upgraded during the month ofÌýFebruary are as follows:Ìý
- Friday, Feb.Ìý12Ìý
- AgriculturalÌýand Biological EngineeringÌýÌý
- Cobb Institute of Archaeology
- Friday, Feb. 19

If there are extenuating circumstances that would exclude one of the above buildings from being updated on the specified date, please immediately notify the ITS Service Desk at 662-325-0631 orÌýservicedesk@msstate.edu.
ÌýÌý
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this critical networkÌýupgrade.ÌýÌýÌý
