STARKVILLE, Miss.—For the third consecutive year, Mississippi State students have placed in the top five during an intense, nationwide competition that teaches undergraduate students about the banking industry.

This year’s team of four ݮƵbusiness administration students placing third overall in the 2022 Conference of State Bank Supervisors Community Bank Case Study Competition include:

DAWSONVILLE, Georgia—Peyton Randazzo, a spring finance graduate.

LOUISVILLE—Eric Sudduth, a spring finance and foreign language/German graduate.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee—Von Churchwell, a spring summa cum laude finance graduate.

THE COLONY, Texas—Annabelle Peck, a spring magna cum laude finance graduate.

The annual CSBS competition provides valuable first-hand insight as teams partner with local community banks to examine how these banks have navigated changes over the past decade, as well as what these institutions can expect in the next decade.

Assistant Clinical Professor of Finance and Economics Matthew Whitledge advised MSU’s team, which partnered with the Bank of Commerce-Greenwood. The team’s paper will be published in the Journal of Community Bank Case Studies and is available at .

“We are all so proud of these four students and their faculty advisor, Dr. Matthew Whitledge, who works incredibly hard each year to prepare for competition,” said ݮƵCollege of Business Dean Sharon Oswald.
