ݮƵto hold celebrations for Native American and American Indian Heritage Month

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State is observing national Native American and American Indian Heritage Month throughout November with university groups planning a variety of celebratory events.

ݮƵbegins the historical month with the “Indigenous Dance and Culture Demonstration,” an opportunity to learn about Choctaw culture through crafts, food and dancing, Nov. 2, 12-2 p.m. on the Drill Field, hosted by MSU’s Division of Access, Diversity and Inclusion and the Indigenous Students and Allies Association.

The two groups also will hold “Tuesday Night Lights: The Stickball Experience” on Nov. 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m., as the grand opening of MSU’s Stickball Intramural Fields at the Vet School on 2745 W. Line Road. The event will consist of tailgating, traditional Indigenous foods and stickball demonstrations.
