Retiring State Rep. Tyrone Ellis, D-Starkville, was one of the speakers who helped lead a peaceful Unity Vigil for Charlottesville in the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵJunction area near Davis Wade Stadium on Wednesday [Aug. 16]. Approximately 300 people attended, including both Starkville residents and ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵstudents, faculty and staff. The event was organized to show support for the students, faculty and staff at the University of Virginia and for the people of Charlottesville. The vigil at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵcoincided with a similar event on the UVA campus Wednesday night.
